What is error code E83 for 5kw air parking heater
Recently, one client feedbacks to me that his newly bought 5kw plateau air parking heater shows the error code of E83. It happens during his first installation in his boat, his heater is a 5kw 24V version.So, he sends emails to describe some details for help. The following is the story how we detected and found possible problems step by step.
As client just received the heater that the error code E83 happens in the first installation, meanwhile it is a brand new heater. It is not too much possible that the parts are broken, because, we had very strict in the test during production, it is 100% test before delivery.
Every time, when any problems happens in the heaters, we hope client to take a video first if possible, cause it may bring us some important clues even the client himself is with experienced, we are doubting the ability. we hope to solve the problem together in a short time.
Client gives a clue that the fan wheel spins slowly and stop in 15s. we guess there may be two possible problems leading to this problem.
- The fan wheel stuck
- The starting voltage is not enough
1st, check if fan wheel stuck
We told client to keep the 5kw plateau air parking heater in off state, and make sure the power is off, try to spin the fan wheel by hands, check if there is any stuck for it?
2nd, check the battery capacity.
if the battery can supply 24V?
3rd, check if the heater connected the battery with its original cable directly?
it is important to confirm this, sometime, there may be some other devices also connected. so, there may be extension for the wire, if the wire diameter is not enough, it will affect the starting voltage.
The client checks all the above, and feedback to me, fan wheel no stuck and smoothly spins by hands, boat is new and battery is no problem, and the original cable well connected.
The above information misleads us to another possible conclusion, maybe the controller had problem, but we still hope to see the video then give final conclusion and solution. So, I have to require it once again. The client told he knows about the heater and had experience for the installation many time.
At last, I still didn’t where the exact mistakes happens during his checking, but it can’t be the something else, still the two main reasons(stuck or low voltage) anyway, it is a good end. the 5kw air parking works.
